Participatory Capacity Building Programme

capacity of communities to manage change by enabling them collectively
prioritize and respond to their needs by accessing local and
external resources.

Organization and leadership training for women groups, youth
and community leaders.

Social - economic empowerment activities to enable the youth
puppet troupes and other organized community groups initiate
income generating activities (IGAs).

Mobilization and education for conservation of the environment.

Support and capacity development for Constituency AIDS Committees.
Strengthening community care and support
for People Living with Aids (PLWAs), the aged and AIDS orphans.
Utamaduni Communications Institute:
Whose
goal is to experiment with and provide leadership in use of
innovative cultural communication media, methods and materials.
Activities:

Development and production of culturally
relevant IEC messages and materials in specified development
areas.

Training and involvement of volunteers in the use folk media
(dance, song, poetry, story telling and puppetry) to support
development activities.

Involvement of local artists in the designing of calendars,
posters and community murals.

Holding periodic exhibitions and festivals on selected development
themes.
